A question for who watch Lost?

Cato_I asked:

Does anyone see the relationship between Umberto Eco’s The Island of the Day Before, and the development of characters in Lost? Does anyone else see the philosophical John Locke in the character John Locke, or the philosophy of Umberto Eco, especially from Travels in Hyperreality, in Mr. Echo?

None of that matters…..what we found out tonight is that this television show, since the beginning, has been about one person, and one person only….DESMOND….

He is the center-piece for everything. And we also know that Penny’s billionare father is the man who has bank-rolled the entire Dharma Project. Why? Because Penny had her own team of scientists searching for a giant magenetic anomoly somewhere on the planet Earth. She knew the Dharma project had something to do with a giant magnet under an Island. She never knew which island. She also knew that Desmond was going to be in her father’s “Around the World” boat race. She knew that the giant magnet would draw Desmond to this island. Her father knew also, as he is seeeking revenge for Desmond not taking his bribe. Now Penny knows where to look for Desmond.
